Cashier
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide exceptional customer service at the point of sale for guests. Accept payment for goods sold.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Point of Sale for customer transactions.
- Responsible for handling large amounts of cash.
- Responsible for totaling and balancing register drawer.
- Providing courteous and friendly service.
- Attempting to find answers for all customers questions and needs.
- Responsible for re-pricing returns at the registers.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of basic cashiering skills
- Skill in operating various equipment, such as a cash register and calculator.
- Ability to stand on feet for at least 8 hours.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to communicate and work well with other employees.
- Ability to perform repetitive work.
- Ability to learn and retain various information, such as codes and prices on products, product information and operations at registers.
- Ability to apply written communication skills in filling out necessary paperwork.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school or equivalent. Previous experience necessary
